The only family known so far to have developed cranio-facial dysostose, has been the object of a new study. Since 1962, 3 new infants affected by this disease were born and another 3 died. Follicular mucinosis is described to our knowledge for the first time in angiolymphoid hyperplasia. In general, follicular mucinosis may be regarded as a peculiar, nonspecific histological reaction pattern in follicular epithelium that may occur on its own or in association with other pathological processes, particularly lymphomas. The unusual and characteristic features of angiolymphoid hyperplasia revealed by electron microscopy are irregular vessels lined by atypical endothelial cells with convoluted nuclei and large cytoplasmic vacuoles.

Two patients with salt-losing adrenal hyperplasia are reported. The occurrence of this condition among Blacks in Southern Africa has not yet been recorded. Both patients presented in the first month of life with dehydration, although they did not have diarrhoea. One was a boy, and the other a girl who had signs of virilisation. The typical biochemical changes of this condition were demonstrated. Congenital adrenal hyperplasia appears to be less common in Blacks than in Whites.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) commonly causes lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) through narrowing of the urethra and disruption of innervation of the gland. BPH is common in older men. Risk factors include Black race, Hispanic ethnicity, obesity, type 2 diabetes, high levels of alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, and a family history of BPH. Case: This report describes a clinical case of unilateral condylar hyperplasia (CH) with unique, atypical morphology. An important feature of this report is the documentation of a series of clinical photographs of the patient, showing a gradual increase in facial asymmetry associated with the CH.
