OBJECTIVE: Neonates are exposed to multiple painful invasive procedures. Pain management in neonates is an ethical and important task for nurses. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of familiar olfactory stimulation with lavender scent and glucose on the pain of blood sampling in term neonates.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of topical lavender-thymol in promoting episiotomy healing. This placebo-controlled, single-blinded, randomised clinical trial involved 60 primiparous women. REEDA score was used to evaluate the outcome of the trial. We present a narrative review of clinical trials investigating the anxiolytic and antidepressant effects of silexan, an active substance derived from lavender oil and summarize nonclinical findings from pharmacological studies supporting its therapeutic use. Six studies investigated the efficacy of the lavender oil in patients with subthreshold and generalized anxiety disorders as well as in mixed anxiety and depressive disorder (MADD). Furthermore, we present data indicating that silexan may influence sleep quality as well as anxiety or depressive disorders in individuals with post-COVID-19.
