We herein report a 48-year-old woman receiving eribulin mesylate for breast cancer who presented with gait disorder, distal limb paresthesia, and weakness progressing monthly. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of imatinib mesylate on platelet aggregation and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) release in chronic myeloid leukemia patients.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Platelet aggregation and ATP release induced by 5.0 mM adenosine diphosphate, 0.5 mM arachidonic acid, 1.0 mg/mL ristocetin, and 2 µg/mL collagen were studied by whole blood platelet lumi-aggregometer in 20 newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia patients before and after imatinib mesylate treatment.

Platelet derived growth factor-α (PDGFR-α) is expressed in peripheral T cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (PTCL, NOS). Imatinib mesylate demonstrated in vitro cytotoxicity against primary PTCL, NOS cells. We initiated a trial of imatinib in 12 patients with relapsed or refractory T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (T-NHL). PDGFR-α expression by immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) to assess for FIP1L1-PDGFR-α fusion and/or PDGFR-α amplification were not required for study entry. BACKGROUND: Imatinib mesylate, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, is used in the treatment of chronic myelogeneous leukemia (CML). Given its ease of administration and manageable side effects in adults, imatinib mesylate was introduced as therapy for pediatric CML. There is limited data from developing countries on the current status of imatinib treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), thus we retrospectively analyzed 116 Chinese CML patients who received imatinib between 2003 and 2008. PURPOSE: Eribulin mesylate (E7389), a structurally simplified, synthetic analog of the marine natural product halichondrin B, acts by inhibiting microtubule dynamics via mechanisms distinct from those of other tubulin-targeted agents.
