Metastases to the breast are rare, accounting for an estimated 1% to 2% of malignant breast neoplasms. Tumor-to-tumor metastasis in thyroid neoplasms is exceedingly uncommon. Two unusual cases of breast carcinoma and renal cell carcinoma metastatic to follicular variant papillary carcinoma are reported. On histologic sections, the donor tumor cells infiltrated the substance of the recipient tumor and the angiolymphatic channels, but the bulk of metastatic tumor was confined within the thyroid carcinoma. Immunohistochemical stains as well as molecular studies confirmed the origin of both donor tumors, as well as the diagnosis of follicular variant of papillary carcinoma in the recipient tumors.

Ventricular neoplasms can be grouped together as a single disease entity because of the behavior of some of the tumors and similarities between the access of therapy and procedure of operation. Intratracheal metastasis from non-pulmonary neoplasm is extremely rare. We report a 53-year-old woman presenting with upper airway obstruction and stridor due to intratracheal metastasis from latissimus dorsi liposarcoma. Chest computed tomography revealed an intratracheal mass leading to intralumimal obstruction of the upper airway. At rigid bronchoscopy, a 2-cm intratracheal mass was identified and resected with endobronchial electrosurgery to establish a satisfactory airway with marked symptomatic benefit. We discuss this unusual metastatic presentation.

The authors present the clinical case of a 61-year-old male admitted to the emergency department, with arthritis of his right wrist and left knee as well as left leg cellulitis, digital clubbing and 'hourglass' nails. Subsequent clinical work-up led to the final diagnosis of stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung, with bone metastasis. The authors discuss the association between this type of lung neoplasm and osteoarticular manifestations as well as its first presentation as bone metastasis.

BACKGROUND: Choriocarcinoma is an aggressive neoplasm arising in the body of the uterus. The disease normally spreads to lung and brain. CASE REPORT: A case of malignant trophoblastic disease with brain metastasis, raised intra cranial pressure and small bowel metastasis presenting with acute abdomen is reported. CONCLUSIONS: Malignant transformation in a hydatidiform mole is rare event. Involvement of gastrointestinal tract is rarer even in presence of disseminated disease. Surgery is the treatment of choice for gastrointestinal complications.

Meibomian gland carcinoma of the eyelid is a common neoplasm which clinically simulates a benign condition of chalazion. Although growing slowly, metastasis to regional lymph nodes is frequent, at a rate of 17-28% in this country. Eleven (11) cases of Meibomian gland carcinoma with regional lymph node metastasis are reported, and the therapeutic modalities have been tailored to suit the individual cases, including full-thickness local excision, orbital exenteration, radical cervical dissection, and superficial parotidectomy.

We report the PET-CT appearance of bilateral ovarian metastases in a 51-year-old woman with a history of right breast carcinoma with osseous metastasis diagnosed 14 years earlier. The colon and stomach are the most common primary tumor sites in ovarian metastasis, followed by the breast, lung, and contralateral ovary. It is important to consider this form of neoplasm in the differential diagnosis because the treatment and prognosis will be different from a dyssynchronous primary tumor.
