We carried out a histological study of a proximally hydroxyapatite (HA)-coated femoral component, retrieved after 9.5 years of good function. The HA coating had completely degraded. Bone was in direct contact with the titanium surface in all the areas which had been coated, with no interposing fibrous tissue. The present study, discusses a first report of staining techniques with silver nitrate (AgNO3 ) stain for the preservation and identification of myxozoans globally. The silver nitrate stain was used to prepare permanent slide preparation of myxozoans with some adaptations made in our laboratory. Trabeculectomy specimens from 11 patients with juvenile glaucoma were studied by electron microscopy and quantitatively evaluated.
