Internal root resorption is a consequence of chronic pulp inflammation. Later on, the pulp necrosis followed by a chronic apical periodontitis is installed. Hence, usually, in clinical practice, both lesions have to be simultaneously managed. Conventional periapical radiograph is mandatory in diagnosis. Improving the diagnosis and management of both lesions, cone beam computed tomography proves to be more reliable than conventional radiography.

Intrusive luxation is an injury involving the axial displacement of a tooth into the alveolar socket. This paper describes apexification using calcium hydroxide medicaments of an immature permanent central incisor in which spontaneous re-eruption as well as severe inflammatory external root resorption was observed following traumatic intrusion. A 10-year-old boy was referred to the Department of Pediatric Dentistry 3 days after having fallen at school. Intraoral examination revealed intrusive luxation and an enamel-dentin crown fracture of the maxillary left central incisor (Tooth 21). The too

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to compare the calcium hydroxide [Ca(OH)₂] removal efficiency of six irrigation‑activation techniques and conventional syringe irrigation (control) from simulated internal root‑resorptive cavities in vitro.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Seventy single-rooted human teeth were standardized to a length of 18 mm, prepared, and split longitudinally. A standardized hemispherical resorptive cavity was created in each root half; the halves were then reassembled and filled with premixed Ca(OH)₂. Specimens were incubated for 7 days and randomly allocated (n = 10) to seven groups:

Taurodontism is an abnormal morphological trait of tooth shape, which usually occurs in multi-rooted teeth. An enlarged pulp chamber and apical displacement of the pulpal floor are characteristics. Endodontic treatment ofa taurodont tooth may be very difficult because it requires special care in identifying and treatment of the complex root canal system. The endodontic treatment ofa taurodont maxillary first molar is presented.

Bacterial sampling of prepared root canals is used to determine the presence and character of the remaining microbiota. However, it is likely that current sampling techniques only identify organisms in the main branches of the root canal system whereas it is unlikely that they can sample areas beyond the apical end-point of preparation and filling, or in lateral canals, canal extensions, apical ramifications, isthmuses and within dentinal tubules. Thus, it may be impossible by current techniques to identify residual post-treatment root canal infection. In histologic observations of root apices

BACKGROUND: Endodontic shaping causes stress and strain in the root canal dentin. Dentin microcracks have the potential to be later followed by root fractures occurring under the occlusal load. The aim of our research was to theoretically determine the values of such dentinal states of stress and strain during the endodontic shaping of curved root canals using finite element analysis (FEA).
METHODS: To highlight the stress concentrations in dentin, two geometric models were created considering the volume of the curved dental root and the contact between the endodontic file and the root canal

INTRODUCTION: Mandibular premolars exhibit complex root canal systems, making them highly challenging to manage endodontically. Canal configurations vary from one to five canals. Successful endodontic treatment requires a thorough knowledge of standard anatomy and its variations.
CASE PRESENTATION: This case report presents the endodontic retreatment of a right mandibular first premolar with four separate root canals in a 36-year-old male. Initial clinical and radiographic examinations showed a complex root canal anatomy. With the aid of a dental operating microscope (DOM) and cone-beam compu
