Myeloid sarcoma (MS) is an extramedullary mass that is composed of immature myeloid cells. The objectives of this study was to describe the frequency, clinical characteristics and the prognostic factors of patients with nonleukemic MS. Myeloid sarcoma is defined as a tumor mass of immature myeloid cells that may be observed in a variety of locations including bone, skin, lymph nodes and soft tissues. However, oral involvement of myeloid sarcoma is extremely rare. These tumors are considered as specific lesions of acute myeloid leukemia. We present a case of a myeloid sarcoma of the upper vestibular gingiva in a 29-year-old woman who has no hematologic disease history. We report here a case of inguinal sparganosis, initially regarded as myeloid sarcoma, diagnosed in a patient undergone allogeneic hematopoietic transplantation (HSCT). CLINICAL CASE: A 69-year-old man with a history of acute myeloblastic leukemia-M1 presented with bilateral conjunctival injection. Ophthalmological examination revealed lesions located at the upper tarsal conjunctiva of the right eye and lower tarsal conjunctiva of both eyes. Histological and immunohistochemical studies confirmed conjunctival myeloid sarcoma. The patient died due to multiorgan failure three months later.
DISCUSSION: Extramedullary recurrence of leukemia can appear as an ocular manifestation that brings about a recurrence of the leukemia, leading to a poor prognosis.

We report here a case of pyoderma gangrenosum in a patient with myelodysplastic syndrome developing into myeloid sarcoma as a sign of transformation to acute leukaemia. The patient was treated successfully with intensive chemotherapy and achieved complete remission, and her otherwise expanding ulcers started to heal. This is the first reported case of secondary blastic infiltration in pyoderma gangrenosum, and it underlines the importance of performing re-biopsy of non-healing ulcers, especially in patients with an underlying haematological disease.

As the first and only presenting feature of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), unilateral proptosis in children is uncommon. We report the cases of two girls who had no systemic clinical manifestations of AML. Orbital imaging showed space-occupying infiltrating lesions without surrounding bone erosion.
