The commonly seen primary malignant neoplasms of the spleen are angiosarcoma and lymphoma. We present a case of serous cystadenocarcinoma of the spleen. It was presumed to be originated from dropped nonmalignant ovarian tissue, which was accidentally implanted to the splenic surface during hysterectomy and bilateral salpingooophorectomies for torsion of right fallopian tube 9 and half years ago and transformed into serous cystadenocarcinoma later. Computed tomography demonstrated a multilocular predominantly cystic tumor with internal soft tissue components in the spleen.

Ultrasound provides data of extremely great value when studying spleen pathology, being diagnostic in splenomegaly and splenic trauma, as well as offering a good approach to the diagnosis of both benign and malignant focal pathology, particularly lymphoma. However, for the evaluation of adrenal and retroperitoneal diseases, other techniques such as CT or MRI are more suitable, even though ultrasound is still an excellent screening and monitoring method, as well as being useful in non-invasive therapeutic approaches.

We report the case of a patient with a palpable mass and abdominal pain in the left upper quadrant. A physical examination revealed tenderness in this region. An ultrasound performed initially showed a large cystic structure. BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to elucidate the characteristics, clinical presentations, and management of epidermoid cysts located in the spleen and the intrapancreatic accessory spleen.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Primary splenic angiosarcoma is a very rare and aggressive neoplasm with a high metastatic rate and dismal prognosis. Since only a few cases have been adequately reported in the medical literature, we report here a further six cases.
METHODS: The records of all cases of primary splenic angiosarcoma treated at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital from April 1991 to July 2004 were retrospectively reviewed.
