BACKGROUND: We constructed a cDNA subtractive library of dermal papilla cells (DPCs) in anagen with suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) technique and clone differentially expressed genes related to DPCs in anagen.

A man aged 33 years developed an arterio-venous fistula following a gunshot wound from behind in the right calf. The quality of the fistula could be demonstrated employing digital subtraction angiographic technique while the quantity was demonstrated employing 99Tc macroaggregated albumin. The localization of the fistula is important in view of the surgical procedure and the haemodynamic amount is important to determine cardiac involvement.

Simultaneous bilateral venous sampling of blood from the inferior petrosal sinuses helps in the differentiation between peripheral and central ACTH hypersecretion. One can also locate the site of a hormonally active hypophyseal micro-adenoma that cannot be demonstrated by other methods.
