Previous studies of the Ilizarov procedure have concentrated on musculoskeletal assessments rather than the opinions of patients. In a prospective trial of 25 consecutive patients, we evaluated the effect of Ilizarov reconstruction of post-traumatic deformity on general health status using the SF36 and Nottingham Health Profile (NHP). The patients had very low preoperative scores, which remained low during treatment and correction, but increased postoperatively. The mean overall SF36 score improved from 36 +/- 3 to 58 +/- 7 (p = 0.031) and the NHP score from 39 +/- 11 to 67 +/- 10 (p = 0.002).

BACKGROUND: Correction of deformities about knee joint may prevent or delay the onset of osteoarthritis or mitigate its effects. Accurate correction of such deformities without production of secondary deformities depends on precise localization and quantification of the deformities.
METHODS: We corrected deformities around the knee using acute correction with focal dome osteotomy in 21 segments (15 patients). Five segments underwent limb lengthening postoperatively.

BACKGROUND: To evaluate clinical and radiological outcomes of bony increased offset-reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (BIO-RSA) in the Asian population at mid-term follow-up.
METHODS: From June 2012 to August 2017 at a single center, 43 patients underwent BIO-RSA, and 38 patients with minimum 2 years follow-up were enrolled. We evaluated the clinical and radiological outcomes, and complications at the last follow-up.
