We present a case of progressive disseminated histoplasmosis in an immunocompetent traveler. Histoplasmosis was acquired in South America; its manifestations included prolonged fever, splinter hemorrhages, erythema multiforme, arthritis, and mediastinal lymphadenopathy. To the best of our knowledge no splinter hemorrhages had previously been reported in a patient with histoplasmosis.

A child with incontinentia pigmenti and chronic erythema multiforme had recurrent bacterial infections. Greatly elevated serum IgE was found. In addition, the patient's neutrophils showed essentially no chemotaxis toward Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, or Pseudomonas aeruginosa in either patient or control serum. Neutrophil phagocytosis and killing function were normal.

A case of drug-induced lupus erythematosus associated with erythema multiforme due to nitrofurantoin is presented. This case differs from those previously reported in that no pulmonary infiltrate was found. In 21 months, there was a complete clinical and serologic remission after nitrofurantoin was withdrawn from the therapeutic regimen.

"Reactive erythemas" is an umbrella term grouping several different conditions, all of which have in common the fact of being stereotypical … the face. A man aged 42, respectively son and father of the two former patients, presented with an erythema multiforme target lesion proximally to an infected wound. There were no detectable predisposing factors in all cases. Familial cases of reactive erythemas have been reported. However, such limited distributions have not yet been described.

A wide variety of agents have been associated with erythema multiforme, particularly drugs and infectious agents. We describe a typical Stevens-Johnson's syndrome developing 15 days after initiation of propranolol and maprotiline therapy. Other etiologies have been excluded by appropriate investigations and the responsibility of each drug is discussed.

Nine patients with cutaneous toxoplasmosis had slowly regressing erythema-multiforme-like eruptions or lichenoid, papulonodular and purpurictelangiectatic disorders. The most common histologic finding was subacute histiolymphocytic perivasculitis with frequent demonstration of the parasite. Another group of patients showed similar clinical and histological findings, but the parasite was not evidenced in these.

Stevens-Johnson Syndrome is an adverse drug reaction, considered a severe type of erythema exsudativum multiforme, fatal in about 5%. Characterized by erythema with vesiculobullous lesions in skin and mucous membranes. Implicated drugs are mainly anticonvulsivants and sulphonamides. Differentiation among other cutaneous manifestations of adverse medication reactions-such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme, and drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome-is crucial for guiding management.

A 56-year old woman developed multiple papules, plaques and erythema - multiforme (EM) like lesions on palms, soles, abdomen, back, axillary and gluteal folds of one month duration. She also had erythematous plaques, painful necrotising ulcers and oro-genital ulcerations. Skin biopsy was suggestive of plaque stage of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma.

A case of systemic lupus erythematosus is described in which for 10 years the only significant findings were erythema multiforme and vasculitis. Gross hepatosplenomegaly with persistent pancytopenia developed, and bone marrow examination revealed the presence of sideroblasts. The patient's condition deteriorated, and subsequently she developed a severe bleeding tendency, terminating in erythroleukaemia.

In two patients, hundreds of nevocytic nevi (melanocytic nevi) appeared in sites of severe bullous dermatoses that were considered to be toxic epidermal necrolysis and erythema multiforme exudativum, respectively.
