AIM: Palmoplantar psoriasis (PPP) produces significant morbidity and requires prompt treatment. Topical agents form the mainstay of therapy. We compared the efficacy and side-effect profile of a steroid/coal-tar combination with topical psoralen and solar ultraviolet A (PUVAsol) in PPP.

We performed a pilot study to assess the safety and efficacy of pulse therapy with terbinafine tablets in 66 patients with dermatophyte onychomycosis. One pulse consisted of oral terbinafine tablets (500 mg/day) given for 1 week followed by a 3-week interval. Topical 1% terbinafine cream was applied daily. Onychomycosis is especially common among diabetic patients. The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of 10% efinaconazole solution among diabetic subjects, without restriction by nail plate involvement or glycemic control. Forty subjects were enrolled, with 36 reaching their final 50-week follow-up visit. Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nail unit, and is the most common of the nail disorders. Current therapies for onychomycosis have less than ideal efficacy and have the potential for adverse effects. As previous studies have shown that nonthermal plasma inhibits the in vitro growth of Trichophyton rubrum, we conducted a pilot study on 19 participants with toenail onychomycosis. The primary endpoint was safety of the device, and secondary outcome measures were clinical efficacy and mycological cure. Patient satisfaction was measured using questionnaires at the completion of the study.

Aicardi-Goutières syndrome is a primarily autosomal recessive disorder characterized by congenital encephalopathy, basal ganglia calcifications, elevated interferon-alpha in blood and cerebral spinal fluid, and negative studies for intrauterine infections that can mimic the syndrome. Cutaneous manifestations include pernio, photosensitivity, and cutaneous vasculitis. Dyshidrosiform Bullous pemphigoid is a well-known entity, but dyshidrosiform pemphigus vulgaris has rarely been described. Our patient, a 36-year-old female, with a known case of pemphigus vulgaris (PV) for the last 6 years, presented with a 3 month history of a dyshidrosiform eruption of the soles. On the basis of histopathological and direct immunofluorence (DIF) findings, the new eruption was diagnosed as PV. We report our case as dyshidrosiform pemphigus vulgaris.
