The successful treatment of androgenic alopecia (AGA) hinges on an effective transdermal drug delivery strategy, a challenge that requires urgent attention. In this study, we introduce a novel approach utilizing cedrol nanoemulsions (CD-NEs) for AGA treatment. Our findings demonstrate that cedrol (CD) effectively inhibits the expression of 5α-reductase 2 (5αR2), akin to the FDA-approved drug finasteride, while also surpassing it in terms of promoting cell proliferation. BACKGROUND: Hairdressers have a high risk of occupational contact dermatitis caused by exposure to wet work and allergens in hairdressing chemicals.
OBJECTIVES: To examine the distribution of diagnoses of occupational skin diseases (OSDs) and their main causes in hairdressers based on a national register data on occupational diseases.
METHODS: We retrieved cases of recognized OSDs in hairdressers from the Finnish Register of Occupational Diseases (FROD) in years 2005-2018.
RESULTS: During the 14-year period, a total of 290 cases of recognized OSD in hairdressers were registered in the FROD.

Acoustic trauma is the major cause of hearing loss in industrialised nations. We show in guinea-pigs that sound exposure (6 kHz, 120 dB sound pressure level for 30 min) leads to sensory cell death and subsequent permanent hearing loss.
