Milker's nodule is an occupational dermatovirose caused by Parapoxvirus, which is self-limited and, due to the lack of information of health professionals, may lead to underdiagnosis. Lipoid proteinosis was first reported by Urbach and Wiethe in 1929. It is also known as hyalinosis cutis et mucosae or Urbach-Wiethe disease. It is a rare autosomal recessive disorder and characterized by the infiltration of hyaline material in the skin, oral cavity, larynx, and internal organs. Lipid proteinosis presents early in life. Hoarseness develops in infancy. The classic sign is beaded eyelid papules along the lid margin, also known as 'Monilform Blepherosis'. In India about 30 cases have been reported to date. Tinea nigra is a rare superficial mycosis caused by Hortaea werneckii. This infection presents as asymptomatic brown to black maculae mostly in palmo-plantar regions. We performed scanning electron microscopy of a superficial shaving of a tinea nigra lesion. The examination of the outer surface of the sample showed the epidermis with corneocytes and hyphae and elimination of fungal filaments. A patient with hand dermatitis reported that switching her smoking hand resulted in reduced symptoms. We report a case of a 39-year-old woman from Adelaide who developed allergic contact dermatitis to the rare allergen indium in her ring. The allergen was sourced for patch testing using the Contact Allergen Bank Australia (CABA), based at the Skin and Cancer Foundation in Melbourne, and posted to Adelaide. This case illustrates the usefulness of CABA in facilitating patch testing throughout Australia, especially when rare allergens are involved.
