OBJECTIVE: Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease involving the pilosebaceous unit. Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects the face in particular. This study aimed to determine if skin sebum, pH, and moisture affect the number of Demodex spp. in acne vulgaris and rosacea patients.
METHODS: This study focused on 30 patients each with acne vulgaris and rosacea. As a control group, 60 healthy individuals were included.

Cepan Cream has been applied in therapeutics for 20 years. This drug is used for topical treatment of burn scars and keloids as well as post-operative scars and contractures. Cepan produces a multidirectional effect. Cepan is well tolerated. Pharmacological property analysis of active ingredients, results of physical, biochemical studies and clinical estimation indicate that the evaluated preparation is both effective and safe. Lately, new information on Cepan effectiveness in eyelids inflammation caused by parasite Demodex folliculorum has been particulary interesting.

PURPOSE: To show whether fluorescein dye helps detect and count Demodex embedded in cylindrical dandruff (CD) of epilated eyelashes from patients with blepharitis.
METHODS: Two eyelashes with CD were removed from each lid of 10 consecutive patients with blepharitis and subjected to microscopic examination with and without fluorescein solution to detect and count Demodex mites.

This paper reports the prevalence of ectoparasitic arthropods in sampled groups of wild (n = 128; 16 species) and domestic (n = 69; 3 species) animals in the Las Merindades area of the Province of Burgos, Spain. The study revealed that wild animals were more infested and with a wider variety of ectoparasites than domestic animals. The parasitic prevalence was 67% for wild animals and 48% for livestock. The tissues and parasites collected from Peruvian fur seals (Arctocephalus australis) and South American sea lions (Otaria byronia) found dead at Punta San Juan, Peru were examined.
