HISTORY AND ADMISSION FINDINGS: A 61-year-old man presented with recurrent angina pectoris at rest for 3 days. The medical history revealed hypertension and an elevated cholesterol level as cardiovascular risk factors.

We investigated whether puberty influences the morphology of the medial nucleus of the amygdala (MeA) by comparing Siberian hamsters (Phodopus sungorus) that had been raised from birth in either long day (LD; 16:8 h light:dark) or short day (SD; 8:16) photoperiods. When searching the medical care literature for evidence on a diagnostic test, three questions should be addressed each time a study is found: (1) Is this evidence about a diagnostic test valid? (2) Does the test accurately discriminate between patients who do and patients who do not have a specific disorder? A 61 year-old right-handed man, a president of a company fell downstairs and was found unconscious on January 1, 1985. He was admitted to a hospital and he had been unresponsive for 10 days. As he recovered from the consciousness disturbance, he complained of difficulties in discrimination of common objects and in recognition of familiar faces. The patient was admitted to our hospital for the closer examination on July 29, 1985. There was no abnormality in the general physical examination on admission. Neurological examinations revealed no significant deficits except visual field disturbance.

In the two years - 1st January, 1973 to 31st December, 1974 - 533 patients had operation for tubal pregnancy at the Gynaecology Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. About five cases per week were seen during this period. The incidence was 44 for every thousand deliveries at the Hospital. The case notes of 404 of the 533 patients have been reviewed.
