Fistula between arteries and the gastrointestinal tract are a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding, but potentially fatal. The recognition and early treatment can modify the patient prognosis. We report a case of a patient with previous surgery for seminoma of cryptorchidic testicle, with massive lower gastrointestinal bleeding. We performed the diagnosis and surgical treatment of the fistula between left external iliac artery and sigmoid colon. The patient was successfully treated by external iliac artery ligation and left colectomy.

A 49-year-old woman presented with acute abdominal pain in the right iliac fossa in our emergency department. Pain was abrupt in onset and severely colicky in nature. Abnormal laboratory values included a C-reactive protein of 75 mg/L and a CA-125 of 70.3 U/mL. White blood cell count was normal. Formation of a fistula to a digestive organ is an extremely rare phenomenon in cases of ovarian carcinoma. We report a case of ovarian clear-cell carcinoma complicated by formation of a sigmoid colon fistula, and review the related literature. A 61-year-old woman, who had undergone hysterectomy and right salpingo-oophorectomy due to myoma and an ovarian tumor, developed bloody bowel discharge and abdominal distention. The authors present 6 cases of colonic lipoma, 2 in females and 1 in male, aged between 61-62 years. The benign lipomatous tumour was in all cases unique, located in the right segment of the colon, ileocecal valve, and on the sigmoid once respectively. The right colonic lipomas had clinical signs of intestinal invagination while the sigmoidian one were characterized by abdominal pain and bleeding. The surgical solution consisted in limited ileocecal resection, right hemicolectomy, and segmentary colectomy respectively.

A 33-year-old woman had undergone a radical surgical excision for carcinoma of the vagina at age 11. Vaginal reconstruction using a pedicled transplant of the sigmoid colon was successfully accomplished at age 19. Fourteen years later she developed vaginal bleeding, and a biopsy of the neovagina revealed changes consistent with ulcerative colitis. A unusual case of colorectal intussusception after transanal surgery of a polyp of the sigmoid colon is presented. Clinical Signs consisted of transanal bleeding and mucous diarrhoe. The diagnosis was established after an enema with water-soluble contrast media and computed tomography of the pelvis. The radiological appearance was similar to that of intussusception at other sites of the large bowel: The enema showed a sharply outlined filling defect whereas CT demonstrated a target-like intraluminal mass.

One case of pseudo-acholinestrasemia was experienced in our hospital. The patient was a 54-year-old female with sigmoid colon cancer. The association of an acquired inhibitor to factor IX and adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon is reported here for the first time. Unlike the lupus anticoagulant, the inhibitor identified did not exhibit marked prolongation of the clotting time using a highly diluted thromboplastin nor was the kinetic behavior of the inhibitor-factor IX interaction time-dependent. We report a case of locally far-advanced colon cancer resected by laparoscopic surgery after colonic stent insertion and neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
