PURPOSE OF THE STUDY: The high number of patients with femoropatellar complaints following ACL reconstruction with bone-tendon-bone (B-T-B) autograft led us to use and subsequently evaluate hamstring tendon grafts fixed with the Rigidfix system. In this study we present the evaluation of short-term results.
MATERIAL: We evaluated 85 patients (51 male and 34 female) at an average follow-up of 14 months. The average age of the group was 29.7 years (range, 16 to 59 years). In 46 patients we treated the right knee and in 39 patients the left knee. Fifty-five patients in this group also had an ass

Tendon degeneration and tendinopathy are common musculoskeletal disorders characterized by chronic pain, impaired function, and structural c … mechanically, a tendon is under elastic and plastic changes in higher amounts of stress. Healing of tendons is divided into three overlapping phases: inflammation, proliferation/repair, and remodeling. Treatment remains challenging, with current strategies ranging from conservative approaches such as eccentric loading and physical therapy to regenerative …

The patella tendon is an important part of the extensor mechanism, and ruptures can lead to significant impairment. The condition is rare in children and adolescents, and as a result, the paediatric literature is limited. Injury patterns may differ from those seen in adults. This systematic review therefore aims to evaluate the presentation, diagnosis, management and outcomes of patella tendon ruptures in children and adolescents. A literature search was performed using PubMed, Medline and Embase to identify studies based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyse

Spontaneous midsubstance ruptures of the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) tendon are rare and often overlooked because of their subtle presentation and lack of preceding trauma. These injuries most often involve the little finger. We report two cases of spontaneous midsubstance FDP rupture in otherwise healthy males who presented with loss of active distal interphalangeal and proximal interphalangeal joint flexion and benign examination findings. Magnetic resonance imaging in both cases demonstrated complete midsubstance rupture of the FDP tendon in the palm with an atrophic flexor digitorum s

BACKGROUND: Subtotal lateral meniscectomy may lead to increased tibiofemoral contact pressures and early degenerative changes. Meniscal reconstruction using autograft tissue has been shown to restore load distribution and joint stability. This video demonstrates an arthroscopic technique for lateral meniscoplasty using a doubled semitendinosus tendon, combined with capsulodesis, to limit the meniscal extrusion rate.
INDICATIONS: Patients with postmeniscectomy syndrome and a sufficient residual meniscal rim who present with lateral compartment pain and preserved articular cartilage.

Gluteal tendon tears are an increasingly recognized source of laterally based hip pain. These tendon tears are typically degenerative in nat … ue to reliably visualize the full extent of the tear, restore the anatomic footprint of the avulsed tendons, and achieve stable fixation.
