INTRODUCTION: Guidelines recommend a policy of endoscopic follow-up of all gastric ulcers until healing. Analysis of data from the Alberta Endoscopy Project indicates that fewer than 50% of patients diagnosed with benign gastric ulcer had undergone a repeat procedure.
