OBJECTIVE: Ischemia hypoxia induces cardiomyocyte (CM) apoptosis in the process of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). It was showed that pro-apoptosis factor BIM participates in regulating tumor cell apoptosis under ischemia or hypoxia condition, while its role in CM apoptosis after AMI is still unclear. It was revealed that miR-24 expression was significantly reduced in myocardial tissue after AMI. Bioinformatics analysis exhibits that miR-24 is targeted to the 3'-UTR of BIM.
