Purified protein derivative (PPD) tuberculin induced immunoglobulin production in cultures of nonimmune mouse spleen cells, as measured by plaque-forming cells (PFC) against sheep erythrocytes (SRBC), horse erythrocytes, and 4-hydroxy-3,5-dinitrophenacetyl-SRBC. The increase started between 15 and 20 h of culture and reached a peak at 48-72 h. Higher PPD concentrations resulted in earlier peak responses than low concentrations. Natural killer (NK) cells have historically been considered short-lived cytolytic cells that can rapidly respond against pathogens and tumors in an antigen-independent manner and then undergo cell death. Recently, however, NK cells have been shown to possess traits of adaptive immunity and can acquire immunological memory in a manner similar to that of T and B cells. In this review, we discuss evidence of NK cell memory and the mechanisms involved in the generation and survival of these innate lymphocytes.

BACKGROUND: Transcription factor B cell lymphoma 6 (BCL6) is a master regulator of T follicular helper (Tfh) cells, which play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). However, the mechanisms by which BCL6 expression is regulated are poorly understood. Ubiquitin-like with PHD and RING finger domains 1 (UHRF1) is an important epigenetic factor that regulates DNA methylation and histone modifications. In this study, we have used H2-DM-deficient (DM(-/-)) mice to analyze the influence of DM in the priming of B cell responses in vivo and for Ag presentation by B cells in vitro. The aim of this study was to localize (99m)Tc and (188)Re radionuclides to tumors, using a bispecific antibody (bsMAb) in a two-step approach where the radionuclides are attached to novel peptides incorporating moieties recognized by one arm of the bsMAb. A chemically cross-linked human/murine bsMAb, hMN-14 x 734 (Fab' x Fab'), anti-carcinoembryonic antigen [CEA] x anti-indium-DTPA was prepared as a prelude to constructing a fully humanized bsMAb for future clinical application. BACKGROUND: S-Adenosylmethionine (SAM) and S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH) are relevant to a variety of diseases. Previous reports that quantified SAM and SAH were based on HPLC or LC-MS/MS. No antibody against SAM has been generated, and the antibody against SAH cannot be used with blood samples. Immunoassays have not been used to measure SAM and SAH.
