Gynecological neoplasms in girls are rare and represent only less than 5 % of all childhood tumors. There are no statistics on the incidence of vaginal tumors at this stage in life. We present a 9-month-old girl evaluated for genital bleeding. Ultrasound reveals a vaginal solid mass and vaginoscopy reports a friable tumor. AFP is elevated. Soft tissue sarcomas are a rare but heterogeneous family of malignant tumors that are predominantly found deep to the integumentary layer. Anal cancer is a rare tumor that accounts for 2% of all colorectal neoplasms. The brain is a rarely affected organ. The aim of the present study was to the review the only four cases of anal cancer brain metastases previously published in the literature. In addition, the current study presents the case of a 69-year-old male diagnosed with basaloid undifferentiated carcinoma of the anal canal (stage IV with liver, lung and bone metastasis). Despite the patient's good response to chemotherapy and the achievement of a partial response that was maintained for 14 months, brain metastases developed.

BACKGROUND: The progression of kidney function and frequency of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in patients with the Philadelphia-negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) is unknown, although CKD is linked to increased mortality.
METHODS: This longitudinal retrospective study evaluates the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in 143 MPN patients over a period of 9 years.
RESULTS: 29% of patients had CKD stage 3 or 4 at time of diagnosis. 20% of patients had a rapid annual loss of eGFR (>3mL/min/1.73m(2)) and eGFR was negatively correlated to monocyte and neutrophil counts.
