Twit … aging of right facial EMG bursts failed to show a reliable EEG-EMG correlation. However, the facial reflex myoclonus might have originated from the left rolandicopercular cortex, as it was triggered by complex language activities. Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) complicating barbiturates therapy is not well acknowledged in the neurologic literature in spite of the fact that barbiturates are present in 17% of the cases of RSD. Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) of the upper extremities has been reported to occur following complete and incomplete injuries of the cervical cord. Such reports describe the value of the three-phase radionuclide bone scan (TPBS) in differentiating RSD from pain of other sources. R1 and R2 blink reflex responses to single and paired stimuli were investigated in 23 control subjects, 21 patients with blepharospasm (BSP), 20 patients with torticollis spasmodica (TS), and 23 with hemifacial spasm (HFS). A patient with regenerated Bell's palsy showed a crossed R1 component of the blink reflex recorded from the healthy side while stimulating the affected side. Our observation supports the hypothesis that a short-circuit trigemino-facial pathway crossing the midline exists in normal subjects which is not activated under normal conditions, but may be engaged following peripheral facial nerve disease.

We describe a patient with swelling and pain in his right hand, which persisted for 1 year after minimal trauma. We think this represents a case of "clenched fist syndrome," a conversion disorder with unique somatic features that is easily mistaken for reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome. Included is a comparison of other psychological illnesses in which unusual physical findings involve the hand.

Results are reported of a study of the effect of benzohexonium electrophoresis on the epigastric area in cardiac syndrome due to chronic noncalculous cholecystitis in 72 patients. This treatment produced a favourable effect in reflex stenocardia as confirmed by data of clinical and paraclinical findings. The authors recommended to include benzohexonium electrophoresis in patients with the biliary cardiac syndrome in the complex treatment of patients with chronic cholecystitis.
