OBJECTIVE: Clitoroplasty is a procedure usually performed in young children, but its long-term psychosexual importance is controversial. We present two adult women from different cultural backgrounds who desired surgery for clitoromegaly.
METHODS: A similar clitoroplasty procedure with preservation of the neurovascular bundle was performed on both patients. Preoperative and postoperative interviews were conducted by an independent observer to learn about the effects of the condition and the surgery.

ACTH and 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17OHP) levels during clitoro- and labinoplasty for CYP21A2 deficiency have not been reported. In this study, we measured these levels during surgery. AIM: To verify the effect of circumcision on female sexuality and to define the need for clitorolabioplasty in these cases.
METHODS: Thirty uncircumcised controls, 30 minorly circumcised, 30 minorly circumcised mutilated, and 57 circumcised cases having clitoral cysts were selected on random bases at Kasr El Aini School of Medicine. Sexuality was assessed by a special questionnaire sheet prepared by the authors to fit the circumcised cases. Clitorolabioplasty and clitoral cyst excision were also done in cases of sexual defects.
RESULTS: Sexuality was not affected in minorly circumcised cases

Pregnant ewes were implanted with 1 g testosterone between days 30-80, 50-100, 70-120 or 90-140 of gestation. Ewes treated between days 30-80 and 50-100 showed increased aggressive behaviour and clitoral enlargement, whereas this was not seen in the day 70-120 or 90-140 groups. Although the implants released similar amounts of testosterone at all stages of gestation, plasma testosterone concentrations were lower in the day 70-120 and 90-140 groups. Forty-four cases of melanoma of the vulva are reviewed. A leveling system comparable to that of Clark's (in cutaneous melanoma of nongenital origin), is described. Survival appears to be directly related to depth of invasion, with no patient with a Level II lesion succumbing to disease. Minimal therapy recommended is radical vulvectomy with bilateral inguinal-femoral node dissection.
