INTRODUCTION: Protective host responses in those exposed to or infected with tuberculosis (TB) is thought to require a delicate balance between pro-inflammatory and regulatory immune responses. The mechanisms of VEGF-mediated effects on endothelial cells during cancer development and progression is not clear. In present study the biological effects of VEGF, VEGF-rich culture medium of peritoneal macrophages from mice with Lewis lung carcinoma were studied on MAEC cell line under conditions of unfed culture. PURPOSE: Previous experience in solid tumor radioimmunotherapy studies has indicated that greatest therapeutic efficacy is achieved in the treatment of small-volume disease. alpha-Particle-emitting radioisotopes possess several physical characteristics ideally suited to the treatment of minimal residual disease.
