INTRODUCTION: Follicular lymphoma is an indolent B-cell lymphoma that can involve the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly the small intestine. INTRODUCTION: The histological transformation (HT) of follicular lymphoma (FL) is a crucial biological event. The study aimed to evaluate the incidence, clinicial characteristics, prognosis and impact of HT time on survival of FL transforming to diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in population-based large-scale cohorts.

We describe an 83-year-old man diagnosed as having diffuse, large B-cell lymphoma with anaplastic features and CD30 expression of the stomach. Focally, the tumor showed typical low-grade mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma. We are not aware of a previous report on the transformation of low-grade gastric lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue type into an "anaplastic," large B-cell tumor.

The purpose of this study was to identify novel areas of genomic copy number change associated with transformation from follicular lymphoma (FL) to diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBL). DNA was extracted from tumour cells micro-dissected from paraffin- embedded tissue sections in 24 patients with FL and subsequent transformation to DLBL and 18 patients with de novo DLBL. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The disease is very heterogeneous, with distinct genetic alterations in subtypes. There has been an observance of increased occurrence of malignant lymphomas in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The increased risk of lymphoproliferative disorders has been linked to the severity of RA disease activity, the use of disease-modifying agents like methotrexate and certain genetic links between RA and lymphomas.
