A case of bladder cancer with bilateral ureteral carcinoma in situ (CIS) is presented. A 55-year-old male had gross hematuria and urinary retention. Cystoscopy revealed diffuse broad-based papillary tumors, which proved to be transitional cell carcinoma (G2) with CIS and submucosal invasion microscopically. A 76 year-old male with simultaneous double cancer (lung and stomach cancer) was reported. The patient was followed up for pleural plaque on chest X-ray from 1986. The diagnosis of stomach cancer was decided by biopsy and lung cancer by operation at the same time in 1989. The histology of these two tumors were different (stomach: well differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma, lung: moderately differentiated papillary adenocarcinoma) and the stomach cancer was early stage and lung cancer was stage IIIa. We report on a 27-year-old male patient suffering from multiple trichoepitheliomas, which first appeared on his face at the age of 15 and later spread to his upper extremities and back. Multiple trichoepitheliomas are benign tumors of the skin appendages with autosomally dominant heredity. Clinically, these lesions have to be differentiated from other adnexal tumors, adenoma sebaceum, as well as basal cell nevus syndrome (Gorlin-Goltz's disease).

Tumor-to-tumor metastases are rare occurrences. A 75-yr-old male presented with an enlarging axillary mass. Further investigation revealed an adenocarcinoma of the colon and a colonic polyp. Metastatic malignant melanoma was present within the colonic polyp and in axillary lymph nodes. In the polypectomy specimen, the distinctly dimorphic histologic appearance was the best clue to the metastatic nature of the malignant component of the polyp. Neuroblastoma and Hirschsprung's disease are considered aberrations of neural crest cell growth, migration, or differentiation. Their coexistence, however, is rare. We present the case of an only child with total colon Hirschsprung's disease diagnosed shortly after birth, who was found to have noncontiguous ganglioneuroblastomas without metastases at age 16 months. The spectrum of neural crest anomalies, long segment Hirschsprung's disease and multifocal neuroblastoma, in this child is unique and previously unreported.

The charts of 79 patients with a histologic diagnosis of squamous cell carcinoma of the anal canal were reviewed to determine the incidence of synchronous and/or metachronous colon lesions. Forty-six patients underwent an adequate preoperative evaluation of the colon and rectum. Ten patients underwent colonoscopy, 33 patients underwent a barium enema, and three patients underwent colonoscopy and a barium enema. In this group six adenomatous polyps and three hyperplastic polyps were discovered. An adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon was found in another patient six months prior to the diagnosis

Reviewing our experience with 19 cases of male breast cancer, we found two patients with a 12-year history of estrogen therapy for prostatic carcinoma. One initially received diethylstilbene followed by estradiol, 80 mg monthly, and finally estramustin, 140 mg twice daily. The other patient had dienestrol, 2.5 mg daily, and later estradiol, 40 mg every 6 weeks. The possible causal relationship between prolonged estrogen administration and breast cancer in males is in contrast to available epidemiologic data. Therefore, the possibility of an association by chance cannot be ruled out.

We report a case of a lipoma arising in the middle ear of a 64-year-old woman and extending down the eustachian tube to cause acute airways obstruction. The lipoma arose coincidentally after a stapedectomy operation and caused apparent late failure of the operation. A review of the literature revealed no similar cases.

We report a case of transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis arising in a pelvic kidney two years after resection of bronchogenic carcinoma. Primary cancer in a pelvic kidney has been rarely described and this is the second reported case of transitional cell carcinoma originating in a pelvic kidney and the first associated with recurrent lung cancer.

A 3-month-old female with bilateral adrenal neuroblastoma had a unilateral adrenalectomy followed by cyclophosphamide treatment for 2 years. At 7, she has no evidence of disease. The favorable course of this patient and that of another young child reported with bilateral neuroblastoma as well as wide-spread metastases suggests that bilateral adrenalectomy may not be necessary for a child under 1 year of age with bilateral disease.

An observation of primary multiple tumours in a newborn girl who died at the age of 3 1/2 days is described. Diffuse nephroblastomatosis of right kidney and carcinoid tumour of the pancreas (nesidioblastosis) were found at the necropsy. Mother has had a respiratory infection at the 18th and 25th weeks of the pregnancy, this being considered as a possible factor in the genesis of tumours. According to the author, diffuse nephroblastomatosis is observed in 0.2% of neonatal necropsies.

The authors report a case of a patient with a right sphenoid wing and a right parasagittal fronto parietal meningioma diagnosed 25 years after a right sphenoid wing meningioma had been removed. There was no evidence of Von Recklinghausen disease. The two tumors were benign. The problems concerning multiple meningiomas and recurrences of meningioma are briefly discussed.
