Oral submucous fibrosis (OSF), first described in 1952, is a potentially malignant disorder associated with betel quid and areca nut chewing, mostly prevalent in the population of the Indian subcontinent and South East Asia. Clinical profile and serum beta-carotene levels in 100 cases of oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) were studied. Prevalence of OSMF was noted to be 0.93% of new cases attending ENT OPD Age of cases varied from 12 to 78 years (mean 29.09 years) with male-female ratio of 3.3:1 and 80% literacy. We report a case of fat embolism following self injection of vegetable oil in the penis, to treat an impotence. The patient developed respiratory failure and neurological disorders as confusion. A chest roentgenogram revealed diffuse alveolar infiltrate. Initially, he presented an hemoconcentration, and fat globules in his urine. The outcome was favourable in 72 hours, with oxygen and hydration. The diagnosis of fat embolism was made after neurological improvement: the patient admitted to injection his penis with vegetable oil, in his corpus cavernosum.

All 18 2-year-old Brahman bulls grazing in a paddock containing Castanospermum australe trees were diagnosed as heterozygotes for Pompe's disease by measurement of mononuclear cell alpha-glucosidase activity. This study optimized the lye-peeling and pulping processes for hazelnut milk (HM) production and systematically compared three pretreatment methods: non-thermal raw grinding (PHM), thermal-stir-frying (FHM), and thermal-roasting (RHM). Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV)-positive neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) is a rare neoplasm with limited histopathological and therapeutic data. This report presents 22 cases of EBV-positive NEC, analyzing age distribution, morphology, and immunophenotype. In this study, a rare-earth hybrid luminescent material (lanthanide@COF) was constructed for the detection of a biomarker for anthrax (dipicolinic acid, DPA).
