Pemphigus vulgaris is a rare, chronic, autoimmune blistering skin disease of adulthood. In 50 percent of patients, mucous membrane erosions of the oral cavity are the presenting sign. An epidemic of renal disease is occurring among the Zuni Indians in western New Mexico. In 1985, 1.6% of Zunis had clinically recognized renal disease and 1% had renal insufficiency. The incidence of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in 1984 and 1985 was 14 times the rate for US whites, and three times the rates of other Indians in ESRD network 6. LJC, which has a long history in traditional Chinese medicine for nourishing the Yin and blood and calming the mind, is obtained by modifying Qiyuan paste. Dendrobium officinale Kimura et Migo has been shown to improve the immune function in sleep-deprived mice. BACKGROUND: Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) represents the most prevalent subtype of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (NHL). Cryoglobulinemia results from reversible precipitation of serum immunoglobulin complexes at low temperatures, with Type II (mixed) cryoglobulinemia commonly associated with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, autoimmune diseases, and B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders. However, its occurrence secondary to DLBCL is exceedingly rare. This report presents a rare case of DLBCL complicated by Type II cryoglobulinemia, acute liver injury, acute kidney injury, and severe infection.
