Healthcare and health professions education (HPE) organizations operate within complex ecosystems shaped by economic, workforce, regulatory, technological, political, educational, and societal pressures. These forces influence institutional priorities and the conditions in which people work and learn. Burnout and moral distress among clinicians, educators, staff, and learners can be understood in part as manifestations of misalignment between system demands and human needs and values. Although attention to burnout has been essential, approaches centered primarily on mitigating distress or stre

INTRODUCTION: Temporomandibular disorders (TMDs) are a prevalent musculoskeletal condition that significantly affects the health and operational readiness of military service members. Despite its widespread impact, available evidence supports that education on TMD screening, diagnosis, and management is insufficient across medical, dental, and allied health professions. Most health care providers receive little to no formal training in TMD, and existing continuing professional development programs often promote nonevidence-based approaches. This gap in education can contribute to frustration a

BACKGROUND: Shortage of health professionals is one of the most important barriers for community health centers to provide quality primary care for chronic disease patients especially after the outbreak of COVID-19. Under such condition, medical students have been well-accepted as a force multiplier for community-based health service. Community service learning (CSL) based on medical student-led community health education service to support chronic disease self-management might be a valuable interactive learning tool in medical education. This study compared the attitudes toward medical studen

Musicians perform in vastly different acoustic environments. Therefore, the abilities to perceive and adapt to acoustic conditions are crucial to expert performance. Previous research has shown how room acoustics can influence performers' perception, preference, and performance behaviour, and that the sound heard by performers on stage may differ from the sound received by listeners elsewhere in the hall. This problem is intensified by daily preparation in practice spaces that may differ substantially from performance venues. This study investigated how solo pianists perceive acoustic conditio

Augmented reality (AR) is an emerging technology in medicine that is underexplored in the endovascular neurosurgery arena. We describe a novel technique integrating the Hololens 2 head-mounted AR (HMAR) system for navigation of the intracranial circulation and simple coiling of an aneurysm silicone model. Computed tomography angiographies (CTAs) of the silicone models were obtained, simulating the preprocedural CTA obtained for patient treatments. CTA was imported into the 3-dimensional (3D) HMAR system, and a 3D hologram of the circulation was created. Using the right common carotid artery ru

Genome editing has been increasingly promoted as a promising breeding technology to strengthen the agrifood system. However, its success largely depends on farmers' adoption of the technology, a topic that remains insufficiently addressed in current literature. This study applies the model of goal-directed behavior (MGB) to examine farmers' adoption intention for genome edited (GE) cassava, resistant to cassava brown streak disease, in a hypothetical scenario in a developing country context. Data was collected from a cross-sectional survey of 357 cassava farmers in Northern Uganda and analyzed

Latinx adolescents with type 1 diabetes (T1D) have lower diabetes technology use and less optimal health outcomes compared to non-marginalized populations. In keeping with the tenants of social cognitive theory, adolescents with T1D who participate in virtual peer groups (VPGs) experience improved outcomes and technology use, but VPGs have not been developed or tested specifically in a Latinx cohort. Our previous focus groups with Latinx adolescents and caregivers revealed an urgent need for community-building, support, and culturally relevant information on multiple T1D topics, including diab

Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) remains a leading cause of mortality, with survival highly dependent on timely bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) use. Despite well-established benefits, rates of bystander intervention and training remain suboptimal, particularly within college populations. This review examines current gaps in CPR/AED training, identifies key barriers to implementation, and evaluates emerging strategies to enhance basic life support (BLS) readiness in college settings. Available evidence demonstrates that limited train

Electron beam irradiation (EBI) is a promising technology for food safety and quality control. It uses high-energy EBs to treat food products, inhibiting pests and pathogen growth and extending shelf life. EBI doesn't significantly alter food's sensory or nutritional properties, making it effective in eliminating harmful pathogens and offering an alternative to chemical fumigation. EBI also plays a crucial role in quality control and preservation, minimizing spoilage microorganisms and toxins, especially for fruits, vegetables, and meat products, ensuring consumer satisfaction. The word clinical derives from the Greek klinikos, meaning "at the bedside, reflecting medicine's roots in human observation and presence. While a detailed history is foundational, a thoughtful physical examination remains critical for guiding diagnosis and comprehensive care. Yet modern clinical practice, driven by time constraints and reliance on technological advancements, has reduced the physical exam to a perfunctory ritual. Bedside maneuvers such as orthostatic vitals, the Dix-Hallpike maneuver, and jugular venous pressure assessment are becoming obsolete, despite their value in bedside

Though research has demonstrated the practical utility of virtual reality (VR) in settings such as the military, medicine, and counseling, VR in sport has become a research focus only in the last several years. As such, it is important to understand how this evolving technology is perceived and accepted by athletes. The purpose of this qualitative study was to examine VR use among athletes with experience using VR technology, uncover potential barriers to VR use in sport, and explore possible solutions to these barriers. Fourteen athletes with previous experience using VR headsets participated

PURPOSE OF REVIEW: The ability to analyze the molecular events occurring within individual cells as opposed to populations of cells is revolutionizing our understanding of musculoskeletal tissue development and disease. Single cell studies have the great potential of identifying cellular subpopulations that work in a synchronized fashion to regenerate and repair damaged tissues during normal homeostasis. In addition, such studies can elucidate how these processes break down in disease as well as identify cellular subpopulations that drive the disease. This review highlights three emerging tech
