Simple Case Treatment Planning: Diastema Closure.

This article demonstrates the use of a smile evaluation form as an adjunct in arriving at diagnosis and developing a treatment plan for a patient desiring Diastema closure. It also shows the importance of the diagnostic wax-up for temporization and visualization of case outcome. The case also demonstrates the use of soft tissue lasers to create a gingival harmony that enhanced the resulting esthetics. Feldspathic porcelain was used for the final restorations because they provide optimal esthetics and translucency.

Rehabilitation of a Maxillary Defect and Missing Teeth in the Esthetic Zone With a Long-Span Fixed Dental Prosthesis: A Case Report.

BACKGROUND: Rehabilitation of the esthetic zone is one of the greatest challenges in contemporary prosthodontics. In addition to tooth loss, defects of the alveolar ridge and surrounding soft tissues often compromise functional and esthetic outcomes. When implant therapy is contraindicated or not feasible, treatment should be tailored to the patient's individual needs. The aim of this case report was to present the prosthetic rehabilitation of a complex maxillary defect and missing teeth in the esthetic zone using a long-span fixed dental prosthesis (FDP). CASE REPORT: A 51-year-old female pa

The incidence of dental fractures in the Italian population during the COVID-19 pandemic: An observational study.

BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 infection has become a pandemic after breaking out in China in the past months of 2019 and spreading rapidly worldwide. To counter this pandemic, several governments worldwide have taken several drastic measures to try to stop the spread of the virus, including a very strict lockdown that has caused a sudden and, in many cases, negative change in people's daily lives. In the literature, several studies have shown how the pandemic has significantly impaired many people's mental health, causing short- and long-term stress, anxiety, and sleep disturbances.
