On the basis of 109 thoracoscopic examinations--out of a total number of 1,014 thoracoscopies performed between 1981 and 1986 at our Department--carried out to investigate localised disorders of the lungs and wall of the chest, the diagnostic effectiveness of the method for this indication has been examined. The lesions involved were 59 pulmonary foci, and 50 localised changes involving the wall of the chest, thoracic spine or diaphragm. We describe pacemaker pauses and pseudohysteresis resulting from sensing of retrograde P waves in a patient with an implanted AV sequential universal pacemaker. Although retrograde P waves are usually followed by a ventricular spike and therefore create the possibility for "endless loop tachycardia," in our patient some retrograde P waves which followed premature ventricular contractions or junctional beats produced pacemaker pauses. Twenty-five consecutive treated patients with traumatic lesions of upper extremity arteries are presented. All were males, and most were young and able-bodied. Simultaneous fracture and/or dislocation of bone was present in 17 of the 25 patients, nerve lesions in 14 and venous trauma in 7 patients. BACKGROUND: Isolated tubal torsion is a rare condition that its management remains a challenge.
CASE PRESENTATION: In this case report, an isolated torsion of the right fallopian tube was described in a virgin girl who was treated laparoscopically. The patient presented to the University Hospital of Larisa, in Greece (January 2017) after 5 days of sharp pain in right iliac fossa. Through this period, she looked for medical care in her home country, in Albania. However, further treatment was not available there.
