PURPOSE: To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of diamond burr debridement (DBD) for the treatment of calcific band keratopathy (CBK) in horses.
METHODS: Medical records from horses with CBK were reviewed over a period of 4 years. Diagnosis of CBK was based on slit-lamp examination findings, and DBD was performed on standing sedated horses. Follow-up was obtained by clinical reevaluation of the treated eyes or a telephone survey with the referring veterinarian.

OBJECTIVE: To describe the long-term histologic and intraocular pressure (IOP) lowering effects of diode laser transscleral cyclophotocoagulation (TSCP) on the normal equine eye.
ANIMALS: Eight normal adult horses.
PROCEDURES: TSCP was performed in one randomly assigned eye. Sixty spots were treated at settings of 1500 ms and 1500 mW. Two horses were randomly selected for euthanasia at 2, 4, 12, or 24 weeks post-TSCP. Both eyes were enucleated and histologically evaluated. The purpose of this article is to describe a surgical technique to repair an exposed orbital implant by posterior auricular muscle autograft. A retrospective review was conducted of four patients with an exposed orbital implant that were treated with a posterior auricular muscle graft. Coccidioidomycosis can simulate an intraocular neoplasm. We reviewed a case report of a 10-year-old girl who was referred with an intraocular tumour. This tumour consisted of a coccidioidomycosis infection in the eye. The eye was blind and painful so it was removed.

PURPOSE: The Foldable Capsular Vitreous Bag (FCVB) implant is useful in maintaining an ocular structure in cases of chronic hypotony secondary to trauma or repeated surgery. PURPOSE: Eye plaque brachytherapy (EPBT) is not routinely performed on large uveal melanomas (UM) as commercially available plaques often cannot ensure adequate coverage of the tumor with high doses of 85 Gy. The purpose of this study is to report our institution's experience with a clinically novel approach of staged EPBT in treating large UM in 2 treatments, 45 Gy in each treatment.

BACKGROUND: Idiopathic connective tissue disease juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) is characterised by inflammatory myositis and distinctive skin abnormalities. Only a few cases of Dermatomyositis (DM) owing to chemotherapy used to treat cancer have been reported, despite the fact that the link between DM and cancer in adults is widely known.
