METHODS: The relationships of CYP21A2 intron 2 polymorphisms and haplotypes with diverse baseline and stimulated blood hormone levels were studied in 106 subjects with non-functioning adrenal incidentaloma (NFAI). The rationale for using NFAI subjects is dual: i) their baseline hormone profiles do not differ from those of healthy subjects and ii) hormone levels after stimulation tests are available.

Ninety patients with endoscopically proven duodenal ulcer were followed for 1 year. All patients were initially treated with an H2-receptor antagonist. Those with more than two relapses within 1 year received triple therapy consisting of colloidal bismuth subcitrate, amoxicillin, and metronidazole. In a two center open uncontrolled clinical trial, the efficacy of a single evening dose of 40 mg famotidine (Ulcusan) was studied in a total of 37 patients (20 with chronic duodenal ulcers, 9 with recurring and 8 with acute gastric ulcers). 35 patients completed the study.
