An 11-year-old girl with typical features of primary osteoma cutis is reported. She demonstrated multiple areas of subcutaneous, asymptomatic, slow-growing nodules, mostly localized at the extremities. Radiographic evidence of soft tissue calcification and histologic confirmation of ectopic bone formation was obtained. She also showed café-au-lait spots, woolly hair and intrauterine growth deficiency.

A 6-month-old female infant with biopsy-proved Hirschsprung's disease had associated sector heterochromia of the irides. Photoactivated psoralens were studied in sixty cases of tuberculoid leprosy for the repigmentation of hypopigmented macules. It was observed that in 42 (70%) cases there was significant repigmentation within 6 months of therapy; in 5 (8.33%) cases there was mild to moderate repigmentation and in 13 (22.64%) cases, there was no change. No significant untoward effects of drug were encountered, except in four patients (6.66%), who developed, marked erythema and eczematous reaction.

A case is described of incontinentia pigmenti in an infant with relatively normal retinae at seven days after birth who went on to total blindness by three months. This was due to excessive neovascularisation of retinae and vitreous, leading to bilateral pseudoglioma.

Despite its rarity, the unusual green pigmentation of a child's teeth causes great anxiety within the family and peer problems of significance for the child. Timely initiation of dental treatment to prevent disintegration of hypoplastic teeth and to offer cosmetic improvement of unusually discolored teeth must be made available to these children, to assure their normal physical, psychological, and social development. The methods, techniques, and materials available today make this possible.

A 20 yr-old male, with a long history of severe acne vulgaris treated with minocycline hydrochloride, died as a result of a motor bike accident. An incidental finding at postmortem was black pigmentation of the thyroid, which was evident histologically as brown-black granules within the cytoplasm of thyroid follicular cells. Ultrastructural examination showed cytoplasmic bodies, of the same type as seen in normal thyroids. Previous cases were reviewed, and the possibility that the pigment is related to lipofuscin discussed.
