RATIONALE: Fallopian tube carcinoma is a rare female genital cancer with no specific clinical and surgical features. It is hardly diagnosed on imaging due to non-specific presentation. Laparoscopy has been recommended as the diagnostic procedure for the assessment of suspicious ovarian and adnexal masses. AIM: To determine the survival and prognostic factors of patients with primary fallopian tube cancer (PFTC) who had been treated with paclitaxel and carboplatin chemotherapy.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to compare clinical characteristics and survival between patients with stage I epithelial ovarian cancer and fallopian tube cancer.
STUDY DESIGN: We identified women with stage I epithelial ovarian cancer and fallopian tube cancer who underwent treatment from 2000-2010. Correlation between categoric variables was assessed with χ2 test. The Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was used to generate overall survival data.
