Total anodontia in a paediatric patient is a difficult prosthetic problem. Upper and lower complete dentures were fabricated for a 7 year old patient with anodontia. The problems encountered on account of the age of the child, the absence of alveolar processes, the tooth size and acceptability of the dentures are discussed herein.

Hereditary ectodermal dysplasia is an inherited disorder involving skin, hair, nails and teeth. Two main clinical forms have been described--hypohidrotic type and hidrotic type. A case of ectodermal dysplasia with absence of hypohidrosis and defective nails has been reported. The importance of early prosthetic management has been discussed.

Concomitant presence of a supernumerary tooth in the primary dentition and another supernumerary tooth associated with permanent tooth in the same location is an uncommon condition. Presence of supernumerary tooth in the primary dentition itself is a rare phenomenon. Presented here, is the first such case of simultaneous presence of supernumerary tooth in primary and permanent maxillary lateral incisor region.

A case of 13 old year is presented with supernumerary maxillary premolars one on either side. Radiograph revealed presence of five more supernumerary teeth unerupted in both maxilla and mandible. The implications of early diagnosis and management to prevent further complications are discussed.

In 1930 Ullrich and in 1938 Turner described females with a syndrome of short stature, sexual infantilism and a pattern of characteristic minor anomalies including pterygium colli. This syndrome named initially as the Urlich-Turner syndrome, was later called Noonan syndrome. It was later shown that the Ullrich-Turner Syndrome (UTS) is caused by monosomy X or a structural abnormality of the second X-chromosome. Presented here is a case of Noonan Syndrome in a four and half year old boy.

Presented here is a case report of a 5 year old boy with a dentigerous cyst in the left maxillary canine region associated with cortical expansion and facial asymmetry. Dentigerous cysts are not common at such an early age and are also relatively less common in the maxilla. The management comprised of enucleation and follow up for 6 months.

A retrospective study of 30 cases of mesiodens is presented. male preponderance of 1.5:1. was 64% mesiodens were impacted and 36% erupted. Inverted impacted mesiodens was seen in 62.5% of the impacted mesiodens. 66.6% cases had 2 mesiodens per case. The harmful effects on the dentition were mostly crowding, rotation, diastema and impacted permanent incisor.

When the normal physiological process of deciduous tooth exfoliation and eruption of its successor is disrupted, a series of changes are observed in the dental arches. The aim of the study was to evaluate the amount of changes in arch length after the premature loss of deciduous molars. Six cases of asymptomatic dental twinning anomalies in the primary dentition are reported in 4205 school children. A clinical and radiographic presentation of the cases of fusion of primary incisor teeth is illustrated. This clinical entity has been found to appear with varied clinical and radiographic appearances. An association of fusion of primary incisors with the number of succedaneous teeth was seen.

Supernumerary or extra teeth result from disturbances during the initiation and proliferation stages of dental development. Teeth formed in excess of the normal number are termed supernumerary teeth. A supernumerary tooth may closely resemble the teeth of the group to which it belongs i.e. molars, premolars or anterior teeth or it may bear little resemblance in size or shape to the teeth with which it is associated. Discussed here are reports of three cases with multiple supernumerary teeth in the mixed dentition and its management.

Mesiodens is a supernumerary tooth with a cone shaped crown and a short root situated between the maxillary central incisors. Supernumerary teeth occur as isolated dental findings or as part of a syndrome. They are frequently discovered when a normal tooth is either delayed in its eruption or displaced often resulting in arch length inadequacy. An early diagnosis allows early intervention, more favourable prognosis and minimal complications. Presented here are two cases of unusual bilateral mesiodens.

This case report presents a patient with Leopard syndrome, with multiple lentigines all over the body and face, ocular hypertelorism, delayed secondary sexual characteristics, mild cardiac abnormalities and supernumerary teeth. Clinical relevance of this syndrome lies in its early recognition and precautions to be taken during any invasive dental procedure, which if not performed under antibiotic prophylaxis and premedication, could lead to infective endocarditis. Additionally, a multidisciplinary approach with pediatric and medical consultants is mandatory during the management of such cases.

Management of root fracture of mandibular lateral incisors during mixed dentition with developing crowding in a ten year old boy by bilateral surgical extraction. Migration of permanent canine into the extracted region of lateral incisors was favourable with minimal spacing in between the rest of the teeth. The near normal parallel position of the roots of the permanent canines was achieved by early treatment planning of extraction of the lateral incisors instead of treating by other modalities which have a poor prognosis.

Odontodysplasia is a relatively uncommon condition that can affect both primary and permanent dentition. It is characterized by defective formation of both enamel and dentin, with enlarged pulp chambers and root canals with open apices. It is usually a localised condition where one or few teeth may be involved. Sometimes, an entire quadrant or more than one quadrant may be involved but generalized involvement is extremely rare. An interesting case of a generalized odontodysplasia affecting both primary and permanent dentition in an eight year old girl is presented here.
