Pleural effusion (PE) is one of the major findings at autopsy. It is found in approximately 80% of drowning mortalities and is observable for a relatively long postmortem interval (PMI). Diagnosis may be challenging because sarcoma cells in fluids can round up and lose their characteristic appearance seen on smears and histologic sections. The authors present the diverse etiology of nipple discharge, which background may be a tumor. They discuss the checkup ways of nipple discharge and review in detail the galactographic technique and evaluation. The examination of pathologic nipple discharge is essentially based on contact cytology, x-ray-, and ultrasound mammography. Consequently, galactography is applied by filling the ducts with contrast material. The final diagnosis is rendered by histologic examination, following the operation. A 39-year-old female patient who consulted due to onycholysis, subungual hyperkeratosis and presence of exudate in the big toe of the right foot. The lesions appeared during oncology treatment of bilateral breast cancer with lymphatic metastases with paclitaxel every three weeks and capecitabine daily. Clinical manifestations are due to the involvement of the nail bed caused by the chemotherapy. These should be known and taken into account due to the increased use of this type of cytotoxic agents.

PURPOSE: Central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC) affects mostly young and middle-aged adults. Typically, a serous retinal detachment occurs with a focal leakage point in fluorescein angiography. Fundus autofluorescence (AF) is related to the lipofuscin within the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). As CSC is thought to be associated with RPE disorders, AF measurements might be able to detect distinct changes within the RPE level. The purpose of this study was to compare AF patterns in acute and chronic-recurrent CSC and to evaluate the potential value of AF as a non-invasive monitoring tool.
