OBJECTIVES: Early detection of neonatal hearing impairment moderates the negative effects on speech and language development. Universal neonatal hearing screening protocols vary in tests used, timing of testing and the number of stages of screening. BACKGROUND: Isolated tubal torsion is a rare condition that its management remains a challenge.
CASE PRESENTATION: In this case report, an isolated torsion of the right fallopian tube was described in a virgin girl who was treated laparoscopically. The patient presented to the University Hospital of Larisa, in Greece (January 2017) after 5 days of sharp pain in right iliac fossa. Through this period, she looked for medical care in her home country, in Albania. However, further treatment was not available there.

This study employed QuEChERS extraction method combined with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to analyse honey samples from Albania for nitroimidazole residues. This approach allowed for the detection of trace-level residues, achieving sensitivity in the parts per billion range. Albanian is an Indo-European language with a shallow orthography, in which there is an absolute correspondence between graphemes and phonemes. We aimed to know reading strategies used by Albanian disabled children during word and pseudoword reading. Parry-Romberg syndrome is an acquired slowly progressive disease characterized by an atrophy mostly involving half of the face. The pathogenesis of this disfiguring condition is still controversial. The relationship between Parry-Romberg syndrome and Lyme disease needs to be considered in depth.
