Within 8 years, "Gamblers Anonymous" in Vienna evolved into a guidance center for gamblers and their relatives, with professional aid. It is a non-profit institution and the therapeutic team consists of one psychologist, one social-worker and one psychiatrist. Serum samples of 107 dentists, dental assistants, and dental technicians, working in practices or out-patient clinics, were examined with an indirect immunofluorescence test for antibodies to Legionella pneumophila (SG1-SG6, polyvalent). Treatment of tularemia during pregnancy is challenging due to toxicity of standard treatment regimens. Here, we report a 31-year-old woman with glandular tularemia who was successfully treated with intravenous azithromycin. Follow-up examinations over a 6-month period showed a sustained response to treatment. She later gave birth to a healthy child.

Usutu virus (USUV) is a mosquito-borne flavivirus closely related to West Nile virus (WNV) that is endemic in many European countries. We report the first case of USUV neuroinvasive disease in Austria and discuss challenges in differentiating USUV from WNV infections in areas where both viruses are endemic.
