We completed a phase 1 dose-escalation trial to evaluate the safety of a dopamine receptor D2 (DRD2) antagonist thioridazine (TDZ), in combination with cytarabine. Folliculotropic mycosis fungoides (MF) is an uncommon subtype of MF which has a more aggressive natural history and is more resistant to treatment than other forms of MF. In this article, an innovative method of treatment is presented. We describe a successful use of topical cytarabine combined with topical carmustine in a patient with a folliculotropic MF. Based on our patient history we suggest this method as an effective therapy option for patients with folliculotropic MF unresponsive to other forms of treatment.

The term "toxic erythema of chemotherapy" (TEC) has been coined to describe a spectrum of skin findings, ranging from palmar-plantar erythrodysesthesia to erythema of major body folds, with erythroderma representing its most severe form. We conducted a multicenter postmarketing study to investigate the efficacy and safety of reinduction therapy with a high-dose cytarabine-containing regimen for pediatric patients with relapsed or refractory acute leukemia.
