Urethral diverticulum (UD) in women is a rare and complex condition that presents as a diagnostic challenge. The clinical presentation of UD ranges from asymptomatic to urinary tract infections, vaginal mass, and even malignancy. This review investigates current literature regarding clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment, and complications of UD in women. We emphasise the importance of considering UD as a differential diagnosis for women presenting with uncommon urinary tract or pelvic disorders.

Meckel's diverticulum (MD) is a common congenital defect of the small intestinal tract resulting from incomplete obliteration of the vitellointestinal duct. It presents with unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding, bowel obstruction, and inflammation. In rare instances, the presentation is with perforation similar to acute appendicitis with perforation. The symptoms, clinical exam, and radiological findings of our patient, a 38-year-old male, were consistent with perforated acute appendicitis; he was found to have a perforated Meckel's diverticulum intraoperatively.

Diverticulum arising from the heart is an uncommon finding. They are incidentally detected by echocardiography as masses arising from the cardiac valves. We present a case of an incidental finding of a diverticulum arising from the mitral valve. This was initially detected by Transthoracic echocardiography and later confirmed by transesophageal echocardiography and pathologic appearance.

The gastric fundal diverticulae are rare. They can present with variable symptoms. We are enclosing a literature review on gastric fundal diverticulum. Lessons have emerged which may help in the management of this rare condition in future.

Meckel's diverticulum is the most prevalent congenital abnormality of the gastrointestinal tract. This anomaly is due to the incomplete obliteration of the omphalomesenteric duct during the 7th week of gestation and is classically located 2 feet proximal to the ileocecal valve. INTRODUCTION: Zenker's diverticulum is a rare disease, which can cause considerable suffering. The classic presentation is worsening dysphagia. Anatomically there is a loose bulge of the dorsal wall of the hypopharynx. A septum between the diverticulum and the lumen of the esophagus can develop and hamper the passage of food. Therapeutic options include the open diverticular resection in combination with myotomy of the cricopharyngeus muscle, or endoluminal or transoral approaches which merely split the septum by means of rigid or flexible endoscopy.

A 77-year-old woman who had been examined 8 months previously because of chronic abdominal pain and an altered pattern of defecation presented to the emergency department with complaints of nausea, vomiting and acute pain in the abdomen. Her appetite was diminished and she had lost 10 kg in the past year. Gangrene of Meckel's diverticulum is uncommon and its pre-operative diagnosis is difficult. We report three cases with different presentations--simulating acute appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, and strangulation of the bowel.

The diagnosis and successful treatment of female urethral diverticulum can be facilitated by a heightened clinical awareness coupled with appropriate evaluation and perioperative management. In particular, it is important to address all the preoperative factors to avoid complications de treatment such as recurrence of the diverticulum or urethro-vaginal fistula. The authors also report their clinical experience of evaluating 59 women with urethral diverticula over the last 11 years and describe the technique and complications of diverticulectomy in 49 women.

A 47-year-old man presented with hematuria and dysuria. He was found to have a carcinosarcoma originating from a bladder diverticulum. He underwent a partial cystectomy and received postoperative chemotherapy. One year later, he presented with a large local recurrence and died shortly afterward. We believe this to be the second case of a carcinosarcoma originating in a bladder diverticulum.
