PURPOSE: To report the efficacy of short-term perfluoro-n-octane (PFO) tamponade in combined penetrating keratoplasty and pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for eyes with corneal pathology and proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
METHODS: Six consecutive patients with corneal pathology and proliferative vitreoretinopathy underwent PPV using a temporary keratoprosthesis and short-term PFO tamponade. Penetrating keratoplasty was performed with PFO retained in the vitreous cavity either during the initial surgery or at a secondary procedure, depending on graft availability.

We report a case of a 40-year-old patient suffering major bleeding when undergoing cesarean section for delivery with placenta previa. After surgery the patient suffered from severe bleeding several times and again underwent surgery with abdominal packing. After an abdominal compartment syndrome and an ARDS a post transfusion purpura was found to be the cause of the repeated bleeding and could successfully be treated with a cycle of plasmapheresis.

PARTICIPANTS: Intelligent Research in Sight (IRIS Registry) patients undergoing PnR from April 1, 2013, to December 31, 2021.
METHODS: Billing codes were used to apply inclusion/exclusion and define 3 groups for comparison after PnR. Group 1 eyes had a non-RD PPV after PnR. Group 2 did not require a surgical procedure after PnR. Group 3 had RD that required surgical repair after PnR.
