Migraine headaches in children may cause attacks that require abortive treatment. This study evaluated the incidence and efficacy of medications used for relieving migraine headache attacks in the pediatric population in Israel. Children 6-18 years of age who were diagnosed in our pediatric neurology clinic as having migraine headaches were enrolled into the study. INTRODUCTION: Hyper IgE syndromes (HIES) are a group of rare primary immunodeficiency characterized by high levels of serum IgE, cold abscesses, pulmonary infections, and eczema. Treatment with anti-TNF increases the rate of the reactivation of latent tuberculosis (TB) infection. We present five case reports of patients who were treated with anti-TNF and developed active TB infection. Physicians should be aware of this possible complication and should conduct screening with the purified protein derivative test (PPD) or the interferon gamma release assay (IGRA) before anti-TNF treatment.

The aim of this study was to assess the resistance level of Helicobacter pylori to levofloxacin and rifampicin from samples collected from pediatric and adult Israeli patients from 2012 to 2013. Leptospirosis is re-emerging in developed countries as a travel-related infection. In this nationwide study of travel-related leptospirosis in Israel, all cases diagnosed at the Central Reference Laboratory for Leptospirosis, during 2002-2008 were retrospectively reviewed and only travel-related cases were included.
