PURPOSE: To report the therapy of benign eyelid tumors with an argon laser as an alternative to surgery.
METHODS: Forty-one patients with 47 benign tumors of the eyelid were included in this study. In all patients, the eyelid tumor was eliminated by argon laser. In 24 cases the lower eyelid and in 23 cases the upper eyelid was involved, including the lid margin in 17 cases. Laser spot size ranged from 150 to 500 microm. We treated 21 previously untreated T1 or tumor in situ squamous cell carcinomas of the true vocal cords by carbon dioxide laser excision. The mean follow-up was 42 months, with a range of 26 to 64 months. Recurrent vocal cord carcinomas, with an average interval to recurrence of 21 months developed in four patients. Laser therapy is now accepted as the treatment of choice for port wine stains. Patient reaction to laser light exposure and methods used to control pain during 1357 treatment sessions for 350 medium to large port wine stains using the SPTL-1 laser (Candela Laser Corporation) are reported. In the majority of cases (86%) it was necessary to use either general anaesthesia or some other form of local pain control.

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the fractionated CO2 laser in treating recalcitrant lichen sclerosus (LS).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study population was 40 women diagnosed with LS who were symptomatic despite medical treatment. Patients had at least 2 or more laser sessions with a 2-month follow-up visit at the Drexel Vaginitis Center. A fractionated CO2 laser was used on affected areas at mild or standard power settings. Fox-Fordyce disease (FFD) is an uncommon apocrine disorder. We reported a 26-year-old woman with bilateral axillary pruritic papular lesions following 2 sessions of treatment with Diode (800 nm) laser for axillary hair removal. BACKGROUND: We describe a case of elastosis perforans serpiginosa and its successful management with PDL laser.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 15-year-old male presented with a history of itchy, raised, red and unsightly lesions on the back of his neck. He was diagnosed with Elastosis Perforans Serpiginosa on tissue biopsy and underwent pulse dye laser therapy over four years with excellent results.
CONCLUSIONS: Our results show that pulse dye laser therapy is a safe and effective treatment for elastosis perforans serpiginosa.

Spinal laser interstitial thermal therapy has been developed as a minimally invasive modality to treat epidural spinal tumors percutaneously. The safe and effective use of this technology requires meticulous preoperative trajectory planning and an intraoperative workflow incorporating navigation and MR thermography. Instrumented stabilization can be performed during the same operation if needed. Operative considerations and technical aspects are reviewed.
