This study presents the performance of a multi-gas sensor for greenhouse detection based on quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (QEPAS). The QEPAS sensor exploits an innovative, compact three-wavelength laser module as excitation source. RATIONALE: Venous lakes (VL) are common vascular anomalies, typically affecting individuals over 40 and appearing on the lips or oral mucosa. Conventional treatments: such as surgical excision and coagulation, can lead to postoperative complications, especially in cosmetically sensitive areas. Various laser therapies have been proposed; however, some are not readily available in developing countries. The authors present a case of a combined laryngocele that manifested as acute upper airway obstruction requiring tracheostomy. The initial clinical presentation and imaging were suggestive of a laryngeal neoplasm; however, a combined laryngocele was subsequently diagnosed.A complete transoral resection of the laryngocele was performed using a CO₂ LASER. The postoperative course was uneventful, allowing for tracheostomy closure and no recurrence was observed during the follow-up period.

Hamartoma is characterized by the abnormal proliferation of cells and tissues within the originating organ. Apocrine hamartoma (AH) affecting the skin, especially in the perianal area, has not yet been reported in dogs. A 7-year-old neutered male Poodle presented with multiple perianal papules and pruritus. Histopathological examination revealed significant enlargement of the apocrine glands and ducts, accompanied by mononuclear cell infiltration that extended into the subcutis. Mucosal haemangiomas are unusual and typically involve frequently traumatised areas such as the lip, buccal mucosa and lateral borders of the tongue. Uvular haemangioma is rare and to our knowledge, has never been reported to cause obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). We report an unusual case of uvular haemangioma causing loud habitual snoring and symptoms suggestive of OSA. This case report illustrates a rare cause of OSA and demonstrates the efficacy of surgery for obvious obstructive lesions of the pharynx.
