OBJECTIVE: Percussion massage guns are commonly used by professional athletes and nonathletes worldwide for warm-up and physical recovery; however, there are no published clinical or evidence-based reports on percussion guns regarding their benefits, indications, contraindications, and even side effects. Carotid sinus massage is a useful diagnostic and therapeutic maneuver in patients with supraventricular tachycardia. Abrupt tachycardia termination with carotid sinus massage typically indicates a mechanism dependent on the atrioventricular node. Here, we present the case of a 79-year-old patient presenting with a long-RP supraventricular tachycardia terminated with carotid sinus massage that was proven invasively to be due to a focal atrial tachycardia. We discuss mechanistic explanations for this unusual phenomenon and review the literature.

Chronic prostatitis is often refractory to antibiotics, however biopsy and molecular data indicate persistent symptoms may be due to occult infection. Combining antibiotic therapy with regular prostatic massage has been suggested as an effective therapy for some of these men. The aim of this work was to evaluate prostatic massage (PM) as diagnostic method of chronic chlamydial infection (possible etiologic agent of male infertility or chronic prostatitis). 105 men were examined. One urethral swabbing and one urine sampling are done before PM. After PM, prostatic fluid is collected spontaneously and in a minimum volume of urine.
