Ceftazidime-resistant Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae (49 and 102 isolates, respectively) were collected from Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., from 1992 to 1996. They were uniformly resistant to ceftazidime, generally resistant to aztreonam, and variably susceptible to cefotaxime. Four representative E. coli strains and 15 Klebsiella strains were examined. INTRODUCTION: Missouri's Medication First ("MedFirst") approach promotes same-day and long-term low-threshold access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD). Since 2017, Missouri's SAMHSA-funded State Targeted and State Opioid Response (STR/SOR) grants have supported MedFirst services (both medical and psychosocial) for uninsured individuals with opioid use disorder at state-contracted treatment programs. OBJECTIVES: To explore racial/ethnic disparities in family planning telehealth use.
STUDY DESIGN: We analyzed telehealth and in-clinic visits (n = 3142) from ten family planning clinics (April 1-July 31, 2020) by race/ethnicity and month.
RESULTS: Telehealth comprised 1257/3142 (40.0%) of overall visits. Telehealth was used by 242/765 (31.6%) of Black/African American and 31/106 (29.2%) multiracial patients. Patients with unknown (162/295, 54.9%), White (771/1870, 41.2%), and other (51/106, 48.1%) identities comprised the majority of telehealth visits.

OBJECTIVE: To determine responses of Borrelia lonestari and Borrelia burgdorferi to Eastern Fence lizard (Sceloporus undulatus) and Swiss-Webster mouse (Mus musculus) sera.
RESULTS: Lizard sera lysed both Borrelia lonestari and Borrelia burgdorferi. Mouse sera lysed only Borrelia lonestari.
CONCLUSIONS: Borrelia lonestari and Borrelia burgdorferi spirochetes did not survive exposure to lizard sera. Mice are reservoirs for Borrelia burgdorferi but may not be a Borrelia lonestari reservoir because spirochetes did not survive exposure to mouse sera.

BACKGROUND: Klebsiella pneumoniae is the major cause of liver abscesses in several Asian countries. Differences in the type of circulating Klebsiella strains and/or the genetic make up of the host seem to be plausible explanations for this.
