UNLABELLED: Technegas, the discrete radio-aerosol particle, containing 99mTc has been investigated, and the chemical evolution and physical properties of the particle demonstrated.

In the present study, I intended to determine the similarity between Rubin's (1970) Love Scale components and five of Lee's (1976) six lovestyles in a relatively homogenous sample of 301 16- and 17-year-old British females. High-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) of saline extracts of Aedes aegypti heads yields three fractions (from a total of 108) that affect transepithelial voltage and/or fluid secretion in isolated Aedes Malpighian tubules. In this study we investigated the physical and chemical nature of the active materials in these fractions. We report four patients with neonatal conjugated hyperbilirubinemia in whom the nature of the disease varied from that predicted by the initial diagnostic work-up. In two the initial liver biopsy showed paucity of the intrahepatic bile ducts; one cleared her conjugated hyperbilirubinemia and appeared normal at 3 years, but the other proved to have extrahepatic biliary atresia. A standard experimental shock model was used to investigate the nature and treatment of refractory shock. Peripheral vasodilatation secondary to hypoxia appeared to be the primary problem in pathogenesis, such factors as myocardial or reticuloendothelial depression being of a secondary nature. Protease inhibition using aprotinin (Trasylol) was ineffective in therapy, but glucocorticoids in pharmacological dosage produced a significant improvement in cardiodynamic and oxygen metabolic factors, provided that the agent was administered early.

One hundred consecutive newly diagnosed cases of leukemia and lymphoma in children from 0 to 16 years of age presenting at the University of Minnesota from 1973 to 1977 were studied.
