Periodicity of repetitive linear enamel hypoplasia (rLEH) in apes from high latitudes with single wet and dry seasons annually has not been described. We reconstruct periodicity and duration of rLEH in canine teeth from three recently deceased chimpanzees from Fongoli, Senegal with a marked seven-month dry season. High-resolution dental molds were taken in the field for magnified imaging with digital microscopy. OBJECTIVE: To hypothesize that in severe states of cardiogenic shock with profound decreases in buccal microcirculation, the cerebral microcirculation may be selectively protected. Decreases in buccal microcirculatory flow are closely associated with the severity and outcomes of circulatory shock.

Actinomycosis of the anterior abdominal wall is rare. We report a 50-year-old diabetic man who presented with a left hypochondrial mass of three weeks duration associated with fever. We report a 10-month-old girl who, at 4 months, developed a small, reddish, plaquelike lesion on her tongue. This lesion began to enlarge rapidly, resulting in difficulty in swallowing and breathing. Disassembly of bipolar cups with a self-centering system occurred in six patients (seven hips; five women, one man) and the cause of the failure was evaluated. Calcinosis cutis is a rare metabolic disorder characterized by cutaneous and subcutaneous deposition of insoluble calcium salts. Ocular adnexal involvement is uncommon but mostly seen in males and in the upper eyelid. Solitary lesions are more common than multiple. The treatment of choice is excision biopsy. Histopathological examination provides a definitive diagnosis. Directed systemic investigations help to rule out underlying pathologies and aids further management. The present case reports the punctal and peripunctal involvement in a case of ocular adnexal calcinosis cutis.

High infection rates of roots of wild kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis Planch) and soil infestation by a root-knot nematode were found in Anshun, GuiZhou Province, China. Morphology, esterase phenotype and molecular analyses confirmed that this nematode was different from previously described root-knot nematodes. In this report, the species is described, illustrated and named Meloidogyne aberrans sp. nov. The new species has a unique combination of characters. A prominent posterior protuberance, round and faint perineal pattern and a medium-length stylet (13.6-15.5 μm) characterized the females.

INTRODUCTION: Priapism is defined as persisting (>4 h), painful and abnormal tumescence that can occur without sexual stimulation. Three subtypes priapisms are seen-the non-ischemic priapism, intermittent and the ischemic priapism.
